Ji-Gong Living Buddha’s Merciful Oracles

濟公活佛

October 5, 2002

Xingde Temple, Keelung, Fa-Yi Chong-De

If you believe in my presence as your Holy Teacher, from the moment I come into your class (through holy channeling), this shows that you have a great spiritual foundation. But it’s okay if you are doubtful that I am really present at that moment. Whenever you have doubts, then you should find some proof or means of resolving the doubts. Don’t let lingering questions and doubts clutter your mind. Lingering doubts are distractions that obscure the flavor of your life. So what is the flavor of your life? Is it sweet, sour, bitter or spicy? Sometimes it is very sour; other times it is very bitter. Do you enjoy the flavors? The variety of flavors is what life is all about. A full life cannot always be sweet. But if you feel like there is too much sourness, bitterness, and spiciness in your life, it is possible for you to reduce the intensity of those flavors. How do you do it? Some would say, “I want less sour and bitter flavors in my life, because life is already extremely hard.” If you can’t figure out the meaning of your life, then it will surely be filled with bitterness. On the other hand, when you save a place in your life for Tao, and you dedicate yourself to Tao cultivation and propagation, then you will find more sweetness, and a mellowing of the sour, bitter, and spicy flavors. You will see that your mind is capable of diminishing the bitterness and increasing the sweetness. Do you taste bitterness when things don’t go your way? (Yes.) In reality, the experience of sour, bitter, and spicy flavors are good for us, because through the experience of those flavors we gain understanding of the real flavor of life. Besides Me, your Holy Teacher, isn’t experience a great teacher for you?

Do you feel sympathy towards someone who has stumbled and fallen? Shouldn’t you show some empathy and pity towards him? Will you help him up? Don’t you feel like a miserable and pathetic person when taking a fall? Did you learn from the experience of falling, and make changes so you are less likely to fall again? Who has the control over your thoughts and future? (Ourselves.) Your destiny is in your hands, but you sometimes make yourself fooled by your destiny. Fighting with your loved ones, or maybe your spouse, not only for once but for the entire life. Instead of making any changes, you would rather keep the status quo and resign to continue fighting. Think about it, if you are not wise enough to make necessary changes, your life and the way you live your life would always stay the same. You wouldn’t be able to change the sour flavor into sweetness. Isn’t that truly miserable and pathetic?

You are sitting in the temple now but where is your heart? (In Xingde Temple.) Really? Is your heart really that big? Can you see your heart? Can you feel it? Did you really feel how wonderful the lecturers and Transmitting Masters taught? If you can establish a balance in your mind and tune it to this heavenly vibration, then you will feel like you are in heaven now. But, can you listen to the lectures attentively if someone you hate is sitting next to you? (No.) Why not? Because half of your attention will be on him so your mind can no longer be peaceful. If you are able to pacify your mind, then you can be as happy as a fairy in the forest, wherever you go. Nowadays, people think that happiness comes from making themselves pretty with makeup and beautiful clothes. They think that only dressing up beautifully like a flower can put them in a good mood. But this type of happiness doesn’t last long. Think about this: when you settle your mind in here, you find yourself closer to the buddhas, and this place has become more like a paradise to you. And in this way, what is to become of you? (A buddha.)

What kind of buddha are you if the behavior of others often triggers a scolding from you? For the sake of achieving buddhahood in the future, you have to get rid of such bad habits. Human beings need stability. Without a firm and stable mind, it is very easy for you to blindly follow the crowd, and deviate from Tao. You need to have wisdom in this secular world so you can change the sour, bitter, and spicy flavors into sweetness. Life is like a sea of suffering. It is also like a play. If you want to become a buddha, you need to play your role well and do everything in accordance with your conscience. Tao is in you. Tao and virtue go hand in hand because Tao represents the inner you while virtue is how you manifest Tao externally. Therefore, you need to cultivate internally and externally because every Tao cultivator must possess virtue. When you are upset and scold someone, you need to thank him or her for their willingness to put up with it. You need to be your own master and don't let others determine your mood. Cultivate Tao so the behaviors of other people won’t trigger your emotional swings and habitual scolding.

Stay away from greed, anger, and fatuity. Don't accept anything that doesn't belong to you. Only accept the things that you deserve. Nowadays, people aren't satisfied with what they have. They want more and more, thinking that this is how they can find happiness. They can never be content because they like to compare their possessions with what others have, so they will continually try different ways to make more money. No matter what your financial means, just do your job to the best of your ability. Don't compare the physical appearances of your spouses and children, the IQ of your children, or the capabilities of your parents with others’ spouses, children, and parents. Aren't you the one who is suffering when you dwell too much on such comparisons? How come other people don’t have as many gray hairs as you do? Do you also compare with their figures, beauty, and intelligence? You are thinking too much because your heart is empty. If you just do your job well and complete each of your tasks every day, then your heart will not be empty and you won’t need to think about all those frivolous comparisons. Isn’t that right? As what you often say, all the comparing that you have been doing is nothing but "asking for trouble".

Can this world still be the secular world if everyone equally has a slender physique and a high IQ? Can this be called life? There’s bound to be someone smarter, prettier, and uglier than you in life because you are surrounded by different types of people. Heaven is using these affinities to sculpt and mold you so you have to accept and build good affinities with the people around you. This is Tao. Tao is not over there. Tao is right inside of you, in your heart and family. Tao is omnipresent. The point if that, whether you can feel Tao or not.

The temple as you can see is just a superficial image. Your True Nature is a buddha in your heart. The place where your True Nature can reside peacefully is called a temple. The temple serves as a guide that leads you to approach and get to know the buddha inside you. You need to control your mind so that the silent messages from the buddhas will not be drowned out by the noise, caused by the things, events, and people around you.

You need to perfect your life and spread true love. What is love? To love is to tolerate, give grace and mercy, and treat people wholeheartedly without any discrimination. Tao is not as simple as it seems. One needs to earnestly practice Tao in order to truly understand what Tao is.

You are always taught to watch out for the words you say and the food you eat. While following this advice, do you need to ask the buddhas for help? (Yes, because we will have more insurance for protection.) Don’t worry! You don’t have to turn to many faiths for further insurance. Take My word for it: the most efficacious buddha simply resides in yourself. You don’t need anything else once you have been initiated by the Enlightening Master with Heavenly Decree.

When you are upset about something, think about the people around you who are not going through a tough time like you are. Regardless of the hundreds and thousands of requests people make, buddhas always reply with a smile. So, when people ask you for favors in the future, be sure to wear a smile too. This is Tao. Don’t transfer upset feelings to others. Did I ever transfer My upset feelings to you? (No!) I always give you the best so you should all give your best as well. What is the best you can give? (Emulate the buddhas by giving our heart, helping others and cultivating Tao.) OK, I believe you, even if you may just be talking. I believe you because what makes sentient beings so adorable is that they will lie when the timing is right. Their lies can make each other happy so that everyone can be happy. As long as the one who is being deceived is happy, then the deceiver will also be happy. However, the most important thing is that you should always send out positive vibes. If you always keep a positive state of mind and positive thoughts, then your positive actions will naturally follow. Be sure to keep positive thoughts instead of negative ones. You should focus on others’ strengths instead of their shortcomings.

Tao is in you. If you value your existence, then you will treat your family members lovingly. Even the smartest and wisest man will sometimes be fooled by fate and timing. You feel stuck whenever you can’t escape from your destiny, or have no control over it. You will get better results in your life if you do everything steadily. A fight will break out if you punch someone. There is a saying that goes, “No argument will result in good words. No fight will result in good punches.” This is what life is all about! What do you understand about life? Do you understand that there are many spirals in your life that you will fall into involuntarily? When you are in a position of power or when you voice your opinions loudly, you might fail to restrain yourself. What is the consequence you will experience in the future? (Retribution.) Because of the deep affinities you share, you and your family members became a family in this lifetime. If you had owed them a lot in the past, then you will have to repay the debt in this lifetime. Or else, why were you born into the same family? This is called affinity. Because of the causes and conditions from the previous lives, you have come here to complete these affinities in this lifetime. You’ve created a “cause” by punching someone in a past life, so now you have to endure the “effect” by receiving the punches in this lifetime. This is what the law of cause and effect is all about. It is never wrong.

In order to be a good disciple, you need to be able to relieve some of My worries and share some of My responsibilities. Do you know how to relieve My worries and what kind of responsibilities you should share? Nowadays, people have forgotten who they really are because of fame, wealth, power, destiny, and ignorance. Therefore, we definitely have to save sentient beings from the sea of suffering. Is that OK? Do you dare to say that you want to help Me? Whatever you do, just do the best you can. As long as you have the will, Heaven will help you.

(Like heavenly beings scattering flower petals, Holy Teacher handed out candy to the class members and Tao affairs helpers.) Do you think this world is fair? Some people got many pieces of candy while others got only a few. Why? No matter how many you got, you need to be content with what you have. It’s okay if others have more than you. You need to be more open-minded, and accept life as it is. This is how you can be happy. Regardless of how much or how little you possess, you actually all have enough. How come you didn’t get any candy even though you had tried so hard to catch them? This is Tao. If you want to enjoy more, then you have to put in more effort. There’s a saying that goes, “The ducks eat cereal while the cows eat grass.” Hence, everyone’s blessings are different. As long as you can be content with what you have, then you can definitely be happy. Tao is just like that. When the candy didn’t fall into your hands, did you blame others or the candy? Oh, you should blame the wall that stands in your way (Holy Teacher pointed at the Tao affairs helpers standing outside of the window). Although the mountain can’t turn, the roads can. Although the roads can’t turn, humans can. It’s very difficult for human beings to turn but their thoughts can be changed. Tao follows the law of nature; and therefore, Tao is in your hands. By building affinity with other people, you are building affinity with buddhas for tens of thousands of years.

What are you going to do if you accidentally drop something very precious into the ocean? (Give it up.) Why? Isn’t it because your life is more precious? However, there are some people in this world who would jump into the ocean to fetch it even though they already know that it’s too late to salvage it. They would still test the depth of the water and their endurance. How much can you gamble in this life? Do you want to gamble whether you will be happy if you marry that man or whether you will make a lot of money? Can you gamble with those things? (No, you can’t.) Will you jump into the ocean if something precious fell into it? (No.) Can you give up so easily? If you can give up so easily, then you won’t suffer in your daily life. There are times when you would do something regardless of the consequences because you just can’t tolerate things as they are, or can’t control your anger. Do you have to have a strong personality in order to be considered as an outstanding male or female figure? Is it good to have a strong personality? It’s okay to have a strong personality as long as you aren’t stubborn. Since you have joined the Class for Cultivating One’s True Nature, you need to learn how to act in accordance to your True Nature. Don’t be obstinate, too sensitive, or too impulsive. You need to balance your emotions. In your daily life, connect your thoughts with some imaginary string so that your thoughts would be unified and not wander. You will find yourself becoming more peaceful and better understand the Tao lectures too.

All saints and sages have gone through trials and tribulations in order to attain sainthood. Has anybody ever said that if you are rich then you can become a buddha faster? Or has anybody said that if you are beautiful then you can become a buddha faster? Although a rock or wooden buddha statue will deteriorate due to fire or aging, a true buddha would not. The changes in the environment have no effect on a true buddha because the buddha is the spiritual light. You have to understand that there is something invisible but true inside of this physical body, the false and impermanent form. You have to tell the true from the false, so as to maintain a right view toward the world. Which one is more meaningful to you, the true or the false? Some people may tell you not to be too serious about it, and that you will suffer if you don’t take things lightly. But think about it. You are still young so the path ahead of you is long, so you must pave yourself a smooth and broad way in the future. Don’t make yourself narrow-minded. If you keep a negative view about everyone and everything, then you are making your world smaller and smaller.

The buddhas love all the sentient beings they see, without any discrimination. They don’t favor anyone because of their money or beauty. As you are learning Tao, you need to first learn how to love yourself so you won’t get trapped in one place. Loving yourself is to be happy every day without letting others or some unpleasant events bother you. Don’t let your originally bright and luminous life become dark. Life is very short. You were all once very young but look at how much you have aged. There isn’t a do-over in life so you have to take every step steadily and earnestly so you will not live your life in vain. While you are here in the temple, be sure to listen to the Tao lectures attentively and you will discover a difference in your future. You have received all the good teachings so you can change yourself for the better. Buddhas and human beings are sometimes connected because when their hearts are connected, their spirits will also connect. Do you want to be connected to the buddhas? Just let go of all of your hesitation and egoism.

In this secular world, you can see all sorts of forms and images. There’s nothing too strange in this world. I am not here to scare you off or deceive you. You just have to observe Me with your heart. Right now, do you feel like the only sober person among a group of drunkards or do you feel as drunk as the others? The choice is yours. What will happen to this world when people do not value morality and ethics? In the future, people will become spiritually empty. What will happen to human beings if morality and ethics decline? Will there be anything worthy of being respected between people? Will there be anything worthy of being treasured between people? Times have changed. What you see with your eyes isn’t always correct but because you have the wisdom, you are different from others. Now is the time for you to learn how to nurture your True Nature and learn Tao so that you mind can be quiet and you will no longer feel lost. You will no longer feel confused about your life. Don’t get lost in the crowd, OK? If you want to get better, then you have to remember these words: “Purify one’s heart and reduce one’s desires; be cautious of one’s words and actions.” This saying teaches you to reduce your desires to the minimum in all areas, and to be careful in all things you say and do. Don’t speak or act impulsively on the spur of the moment because you can’t tolerate the situation at that instant. Such impulsiveness will bring on a lot of troubles for you. Do you understand?

When you go home, be sure to show filial love to your parents, and treat all your family members lovingly, OK? Your parents are like buddhas, and so are your siblings. I feel much relief when your family is harmonious. I worry less when you fulfill your duties well. Can you cultivate Tao, repay the grace, and fulfill your vows in your family? The most important thing is for you to fulfill your duty well, and not close yourself off to the outside world. Don’t confine yourself in the dark. I will be very happy as long as you live well.

Heaven will assist you if you have the vow, the mission, the will, and the heart for your Tao duties. Heaven is constantly paving the way for you through all the people and events around you. Isn’t that wonderful? It’s not easy and not usual for you to attend the Tao seminar, so you should set an extraordinary aspiration. Everything in the temple looks quite ordinary, but what will truly touch and move you is the feeling in your heart when you quiet your mind and listen to the buddha-voices here in the holy temple.

As long as you have the will and determination to do it, then you will certainly succeed. You will feel very tranquil sitting here feeling the buddhas’ presence, or just helping to arrange the chairs. This feeling of calm is precious! You have already lived a hurried life filled with worries, for decades. Now it’s time for a change. Learn to be an immortal! Is there anything that you can’t let go? Is there anything that you can’t stop thinking about? Learning to be like a buddha is the best part of a full life. You can’t always transform an evil person into a kind and virtuous person but you can change your state of mind in order to truly accept someone who has committed to live a life of evil.

If your heart is at ease and you live consciously and with conscience, then your future will be filled with hope. Although there is always too much to observe and learn and do and talk about in life, you can lead a good life as long as you continue to fulfill your duties well. This is what life is all about. But how come there are always so many people who still want to fight, and to seize more for themselves? It doesn't mean that you should compete on their terms, or abandon everything. You should just fulfill your duties well and do everything properly and reasonably. If you do that, then you will receive help from Heaven and your affinities.

You have to believe in Me and come back to the temple often. You should come to the temple often regardless of the mood you are in. I want to give you something but I don't have anything with me so I can only give you this holy revelation, titled Xin An ("Peace of Mind"). With peace of mind, you can get through any difficult passage or situation you may encounter.

One is unable to forget the endless burdens, entanglements, and sorrows of love and hate.

One’s thoughts are a turmoil and one is unable to see through the gains and losses. But still one is unwilling to let go of the worries.

One’s life is a floating cloud. Like a traveler passing through many villages, one aimlessly follows the wind.

Like a red flower that is destined to wilt, life passes by like flowing water.

Spread your wings and fly high and far; broaden your vision and spirit.

Dance like a newly emerged butterfly, and expand your potential as a player on life’s stage.

Learn a lesson from the beautiful flower that blooms vibrantly in the deep valley without competing or comparing its beauty with any others.

It takes time for a koi fish to jump through the dragon gate; only when the causes and conditions are right, will everything go as you wish.

Live through every instant with stability and earnestness.

Whether your achievements are great or ordinary, live your life without any complaints or regrets.

Humans! Do not live your life like a sparrow that has no goals. You should set a higher and greater aspiration so you can live a meaningful life without wasting your time. Just think about it: what can the insignificant caterpillar do after it has transformed into a butterfly? It can soar far and wide and expand its potential on life’s stage!

Perhaps people don’t understand what you are doing. Perhaps people don’t understand the hard work and frustrations you’ve been through. Nevertheless, you should be like a flower that blooms when the time is right. When you bloom, you will bloom more beautifully than others. Just like the stars in the sky that continue to twinkle in the dark regardless whether people pay attention to them or not. The stars won’t get upset and stop twinkling when no one notices them. Remember to be yourself and fulfill your duties well. Most importantly, continue to live a meaningful life even though you may not be noticed or understood.

It takes time for a koi fish to jump through the dragon gate. It can’t be done in an instant. Therefore, only when the causes and conditions are right, will everything go according to your wishes. Live through every instant with steady earnestness. Although you may not live a glamorous life filled with excitement and adventure, or achieve great success in your career, you should live every moment of your life with peace of mind. With peace of mind, you will become happier moment by moment. It doesn’t matter whether your life will turn out to be grand or ordinary; you can live a contented life as long as you don’t hold any grudges, comparisons, or discriminations. Can you do that? I have millions of disciples but will I say anything bad about any of them? (No!) I am just waiting and waiting until one day My disciples will grow up from being ignorant and childish to being mature and motivated. I can only wait! Aren’t you all doing the same? Isn’t that alright? Although you’re waiting for the people around you to change, you need to change yourself first in order to touch people’s hearts. Right?

Having a physical body is trouble sometimes. It is too tired … it is hungry and wants to take a break … endless maintenance. But I’m different. Since the body I’m borrowing doesn’t belong to me, I can preach and teach as much as I want. Life is just like that. Once a candle is lit, how long will the flame last? Till the very end, isn’t it? So is it better for you to have your physical body or not? Of course I’m better off than you are. You have your physical body now so you need to take good care of it and shouldn’t hurt it carelessly. Make good use of the time you spend here in this world so you can grow more from the experience. After you go back to Heaven, be sure to read the contents of the holy revelations. The lyrics I’ve given you can be sung with a secular melody. The song contains all My love, concern, and blessings. I only wish you that you can live a better life, OK?

Tao cultivation doesn’t take place just occasionally. What should you do? (The class leader speaks up and answers, “One needs to constantly clean one’s heart so that it won’t get polluted.”) Although you have read a lot of scriptures, you need to put them into practice. Be with the people so you can understand sentient beings’ sufferings and be motivated to help them. No change will occur to you if you just sit at home and read scriptures, right? Be with sentient beings! The most valuable scripture in life is to be able to understand sentient beings’ sufferings. This is how the vows and heart of a bodhisattva will arise. One needs to constantly purify one’s heart but how do you go about doing that? You need to pacify your heart so you can have peace of mind, right? It’s not easy to frequently come to the temple and help the buddhas with temple affairs! You have cultivated for several lifetimes in order to have the affinity to gather here.

Each and every one of you is equally important as long as you affirm Tao. As long as you are willing to learn Tao, cultivate Tao, and propagate Tao, then your future will grow better and better. It doesn’t mean that your future will be better materially or financially. It means that your state of mind will be elevated. In the temple, some people can preach Tao while others can help out with temple affairs. This is how you can complement each other. Most importantly, you need to value your own presence and don’t underestimate yourself. Those who are knowledgeable in scriptures and those who are excellent in preaching Tao may not necessarily attain buddhahood. What matters is your will and constant effort to cultivate and propagate Tao. I am looking forward and waiting to see your dedication to Tao. I’m still waiting for your bodhi heart to sprout, OK?

More and more of today’s young people are giving their families cause to worry. I tell them to pacify their minds and learn Tao well. Once your mind is pacified, you will do well in school. Stop thinking too much about other things. I hope that your life will grow better and better for the next decade, two decades, the rest of your life, and forever and ever. Instead of chasing after those idols and fashions that will only be popular for a few years, you need to seek for something that’s everlasting. Be sure to go home and read the scriptures. Which one should you read first? Start with The Analects. In the past, people have said that one can rule the world with just half of The Analects. Once you are familiar with The Analects, you will find it to be very useful. Don’t despise Confucius as being outdated and old-fashioned. Retro is making a comeback now. Right?

There are so many Tao members in the temple who haven’t had a chance to take a good look at the class members. It doesn’t mean that they don’t care or cherish you. You will get to talk to each other when you come to the temple. Although some of them might forget to show you their concern, you still need to take good care of yourselves. Be sure to come back to the temple often. You can come here to kowtow or to learn the rituals. All these will benefit you significantly.

You truly need to be a part of sentient beings’ lives. Your family members are also sentient beings and you need to show them your concern. Even those in the temple (referring to the Tao affairs helpers) may seem very vulnerable sometimes. (No, they look very strong.) That’s because you don’t understand them! I’ve been sitting on the altar and observing them for a long time. You have only observed them for a few decades but I’ve been observing them for hundreds and thousands of years. Although they look fine now, they can be quite vulnerable sometimes. It’s hard for people to know about the hard work and frustrations they have gone through. You are cheering them on and giving them a lot of encouragement just by attending the Tao seminar. This way their hair won’t become gray so quickly! Although they are already senior in age, they can still help out in the temple. This secular world can become a paradise if you encourage each other, help each other grow, and learn from each other. No matter what your career is, you can make good use of your talents and learn Tao well. When it comes to words, less is more as long as your hearts are connected. Heart connection is the most important thing of all!

As long as you affirm Tao, then you can change your destiny and create many opportunities for yourself. These teachings cannot be found on TV. Although not many people preach about these principles, the Truth can stand the test of time. Be patient and continue to listen well to the Tao lectures. You are all brothers and sisters. You are here in the temple for Tao, not for any selfish gain. It would be wonderful if all of you share the heart connection and be willing to learn Tao.

You have to make the right decision for your life. Life follows the laws of nature. You just have to cultivate Tao naturally. You don’t need a lot of unnecessary things. I, Ji-Gong Living Buddha, guide sentient beings to understand the Truth by being with them naturally and frequently. I don’t need anything else. Do you understand? You are closest to Heaven when your actions are the most natural. When you get close to sentient beings, then you will be in communion with Heaven. As the contemporary methods of teaching and learning Tao continue to increase and multiply, the Truth gets buried deeper and deeper in the pedagogy. All the scholastic methods are like the branches and leaves on a tree. But a healthy tree must also have a strong trunk and deep roots. Likewise, an able Tao cultivator and lecturer must have a calm and steady mind at all times, to serve as the stable platform for Tao propagation and teaching.

Where can you find the “dharma?” There are thousands upon thousands of dharma but you don’t need any of them because you have already received the supreme dharma. This is My sincere advice to you. After you have become My disciple, all you have to do is to learn Tao and cultivate Tao diligently. You don’t need to search and struggle, or think too much, because all you have to do is to follow the Tao. I’m worried that you might make no attempt to balance your mind, to free yourself from worries, and to change for the better. Do you understand? The most natural way to cultivate Tao is the best way. Just come to the temple often and kowtow. You don’t need anything else. Although kowtow is a very simple ritual, the peace you gain from kowtowing is far more beneficial in the long run than doing sitting mediations. That’s why I say, “The most natural way to cultivate Tao is the best way. The most ordinary way is the best way. Tao is as common and mundane as a cup of clean water. This is how It can last forever.”

Be sure to take good care of yourself! When you are cultivating Tao, you can’t be lazy, idle, or give up on yourself. I have come here to see if you have improved and are doing well. I seize this opportunity to look at you and give you some words of encouragement. I know that you will benefit from My encouragement so I can leave now without any worries. I hope that you are fully charged with confidence, and will cultivate and propagate Tao without any complaints or regrets on account of the hardships ahead.

Be of one mind and heart as you work towards something extraordinary: being the bridge between buddhas and sentient beings. Difficulties are inevitable when it comes to fulfilling this responsibility and mission. Everyone needs to work together in unison because this mission is difficult and requires a lot of hard work. You need more people to join in the effort. Sentient beings are suffering badly, and they are very pitiful because they don’t know what will happen in the future. So shouldn’t you help them now without hesitation? First, you need to cultivate yourself well in order to help more people to understand Tao. You need to take good care of yourself. Wipe away your tears and transform your weariness and sadness into a force of motivation as you continue to learn and cultivate Tao. I hope that you can feel in your heart that I, Ji-Gong Living Buddha, am always beside you, comforting and encouraging you. Don’t ever give up on this path, OK? Can you do that?

Be sure to learn Tao and cultivate Tao. Don’t disappoint Me and your ancestors and descendants. They are waiting for you because you can bring glory to them. You will have to make greater efforts in the future. No matter what experiences you will encounter in the future, just accept them as part of your journey, and grow from them. This is how you can get past the difficulties more quickly. How could you expect to become a buddha without any trials and tribulations? How can you expect to understand the hardships that the past saints and sages have gone through without experiencing them yourself? As you cultivate Tao, you are constantly being judged by Heaven. If you don’t want to get weeded out, you need to have the determination and wisdom to continually advance to a higher level. Remember that this is not an easy path. Because this path is not easy, you need to set an extraordinary aspiration. Since you have already chosen this path, you should continue on this path without any regrets and without turning back. You have to continue for a very long time until one day you have fulfilled your vows. Be sure to help each other smooth the paths ahead.
